It’s National Book Lover’s Day! Wanna win a paperback from my library?
Oh how happy I am that there is a national book lover’s day and it’s today! I know so many of us would put ourselves in that box.
I’m extremely lucky to get a lot of books through the mail. (In fact, I think I’m solely responsible for keeping my UPS man in shape. I live on the third floor and he flies up almost daily…)
As a result I have a book shelf stuffed to the brim, and I’d love to send one your way. And I’d like to surprise you too, so here’s how we’re going to do this.
1. Leave a comment telling me your favorite book everrrrrr. You can tell me why if you wish :)
2. Leave your email address OR social media account/ link to your blog (so I can let you know if you win)
3. I’ll pick a winner using Random.org, contact you for your address and personally hand pick a book from my library that I think will suit your tastes based on your answer. The book will be on it’s way to you (with a few other goodies) asap!
So whaddya say? Leave a comment. You’ve got to be in it to win it!
Notes:
– I’ll pick a winner tomorrow at 5pm PST
– For US & Canada only. If you’re outside of North America, feel free to enter and we’ll make it an eBook instead. Sound fair? :)
My favorite book ever is “Alas, Babylon” by Pat Frank. It was written in the late ’50s and I read it in the 60s. It’s about survival after WWIII which was a real possibility in the 1960’s and I remember it well. It struck a cord with me and I have read it many times since. Thanks.

I would have to go with the book I have read the most times in my life. Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery. More recent reads that I love: Peace Like a River by Leif Enger and The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie R. King. (I can’t narrow it down to just one favorite…)
It’s National Book Lovers’ Day? I had no idea! Thanks for giving me a reason to ditch everything and curl up with a good book (it’s way too hot for anything else, anyway).
My favorite book is “Pawn of Prophecy” by David Eddings, because it was my gateway drug into the fantasy genre.
@Virginia Bell, I am a huge fan of L.M. Montgomery too, especially the Emily books!
You’re absolutely welcome Christine – any excuse will do, right?
My all-time favorite novel is THE FAR PAVILLIONS by M. M. Kaye. It’ over 1,000 pages long: epic in length and still, I couldn’t put it down. As far as I know this favorite of mine is out of print and I gave it away years ago. I hope your readers can get a library copy. WHY did I LOVE it? I love historical fiction: being able to travel through time and space to become involved in other cultures. Kaye took me on an amazing journey of mystery, adventure and romance though British Colonial India. The story is beautifully written. I highly recommend it to all historical fiction lovers! Bette A.
